Rome national workshop

The eceee energy sufficiency project held a national workshop in Rome in April 2018.  The workshop offered an opportunity to discuss the project's early findings in the context of a Southern European climate and culture.

A discussion of energy sufficiency is timely in a setting where a changing climate could drive energy use higher unless buildings are designed and people are encouraged to keep cool in low energy ways. We can learn about sufficiency actions from one another: in the case of building cooling, Switzerland for example requires adequate action on the building envelope and use of ceiling fans before air conditioning will be permitted.  This workshop discussed this issue and others that arose from presentations on the energy sufficiency project and on related work that is happening in Italy.
