Erwin Cornelis is a senior energy policy expert at TRACTEBEL Engie with more than 20 years in the field of energy and about 15 years in the field of energy efficiency.
He managed an energy efficiency obligation scheme and a voluntary agreement on energy efficiency with the industry. He assessed the potential of cogeneration and excess heat utilization from the industry and power generation and how it compares to deep renovation of buildings. He also evaluated energy efficiency policy instruments, such as energy efficiency obligation schemes, (white) certificate schemes, voluntary agreements and energy audit programmes.
He was until the end of 2017 the vice-president of the Flemish Cogeneration Association. Erwin has joined many of eceee’s Summer Studies and served as panel leader in 2015. He is now a board member of eceee.
